Zombie is a popular subject matter in the western horror and fantasy genre. A zombie refers to a mythological undead entity created through the reanimation of the dead. Contrary to other modern Indian languages, not too many zombie-related works exist in Assamese literature. Jimri is perhaps the first full length zombie novel in the Assamese language. Jimri stands for living dead and is the Assamese equivalent of the word zombie. Set in a post-covid time, this novel is a story of two individuals embarking upon a perilous journey through the ruins of zombie infested western districts of Assam.
