This novel comprises with some fractual stories of different people in different backgrounds. But there is a common fact behind these stories which captures the apparent reality in every life. The reader can corelate his own experience with the narrative and can feel the truth that the true story of life is different than it seems, whether someone is saying it or writing it, because reality is always more exciting in the end than imagination. And the surprising thing is that the stories do not really have ends. There are many stories and sub-stories hidden inside each story. Unlike the conventional genre of novels based on a main story, in “Eta Kahinir Sandhanat” (In Search of a Story) the author is looking for a story for the novel— one that is real, so that It can make the narrative meaningful. In other words, the novel focuses on the search for a story rather than a specific story itself. The author and main character of the novel, which himself becomes a part of a common moving story amidst a collage of different stories, realizes that reality is not really one-dimensional, it is multi-dimensional. And the character himself does not know in which layer of this multi-dimensional multi-layered reality the true essence of a character can be found. This is probably the joke of life. There is no doubt that in this exceptional novel by Pradip Sarma, the reader will get a new kind of reading experience— one that is fictional but real, and one that is personal but social.
