The protagonist of Kathoki Kalou- Kalou, is a simple, innocent, honest, and village-bred boy. The novel describes his various exciting experiences during his journey to visit his maternal uncle’s home in Guwahati and his subsequent experiences in the city. On the very first day of his arrival in Guwahati, Kalou happens to meet a girl named Rozi, with whom he develops a friendship. Through Rozi, Kalou becomes a participant in a wide range of good and bad experiences.
Written in lucid language accessible to young children and characterized by a fast-paced narrative, the novel keeps its central mystery concealed until the very end, when it is finally revealed. Although Kathoki Kalou is primarily a novel for children and adolescents, we are hopeful that older readers too will derive equal enjoyment from reading this book.
