“Ni” wants to say, “Be your own light.” But she also accepts that, for the lamp to shine, it must burn the wicked moths drawn to it. Only then can the lamp truly glow. In essence, Ni is a journey of self-discovery shaped by the combined experiences of art, literature, and a medical life. Although the metaphors of a mother’s strength and dreamlike journeys guide Ni toward an inner light, she still has to pass through an indescribable and unbearable reality.

The absence of a father and the patriarchal gaze of society—childhood orphanhood, the male gaze in youth, and gender-based restrictions—all deeply influence her psychological development. Amidst internal conflicts, self-doubt, and accumulated wounds, the protagonist “Ni” ultimately accepts that these truths must be spoken.

Using the excuse of being a Scorpio, Ni desires to radiate blue and green light, yet she finally acknowledges that even a Scorpio has a venomous tail to defend itself against enemies.
