“Kanmani Rajkumar” is the Assamese translation of one of the most popular and widely translated classics novella The Little Prince written for children and grown-ups by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. While trying to repair his crashed aeroplane in the middle of the Sahara desert, an airman meets The Little Prince, an inhabitant of asteroid B-612 where he diligently removes small baobabs as soon as they appeared, and where he has left behind three volcanoes and a rose. Before reaching Earth, he visits other planets and meets a king, a conceited man, a drunkard, a lamplighter, a geographer etc. An enjoyable read on the Little Prince’s interplanetary travels, this book is also a deep reflection on human nature.
